RE: Permit Renewal and Modification Application Extension Request
Wilcox County Landfill
Permit No. 66-03
Dear Chairman Albritton:
On August 14,2026,the Department received a letter from Porter-Higginbotham Engineering,Inc.,
submitted on behalf of the Wilcox County Commission,that requested an extension to submit the
remaining documents for the"Response to Permit Renewal Comment Letter dated 10/9/25" letter dated
July 31,2026. Based on the"Response"letter and additional conversations,the Department grants the
request for an extension. The remaining documents are now due on August 31,2026. Failure to provide
said document(s)may result in termination of the permit renewal application process. In the event that the
currently expired permit is not renewed,the facility must cease accepting waste and initiate closure.
