This waste exhibits less than 50 percent of each of the TC levels for metals. According to ADEM Admin. Code 335-13-4-.26(3),
management of the foundry waste is subject to the following conditions:
1) Foundry waste may not be disposed in flood plains, wetlands, residential zones or areas less than five feet above the uppermost
aquifer
2) The following records must be kept on file at your facility:
a) A description of the disposal sites)within the%, '/4 Section of a specific Township and Range.
b) Volume of foundry waste disposed at each location.
3) The waste must be certified non-hazardous by the generator on a quarterly basis or whenever the process changes which would
significantly alter the test results,whichever is more frequent. Certification shall be accomplished by submitting the following:
a) Completed Solid Waste Profile Sheet.
b) Results from a TCLP analysis for metals.
c) Appropriate fee.
4) The generator must contact the ADEM Water Division to determine if a General Slormwaler or NPDES permit to discharge the
stormwater is necessary.
Foundry waste not meeting these requirements must be managed at an approved recycle/reuse facility or a landfill approved for the
disposal of foundry waste and permitted by the Department. This approval letter does not exempt M&H Valve Cc from complying with
applicable requirements of the ADEM Hazardous Waste Program regulations.
